A Letter From CUMAC

A Letter From CUMAC

CUMAC is able to provide nutritious food, and meet the growing needs of our community with dignity, solely thanks to the generous support of donors like you.

December 2014
Dear David and Julianne,
A few weeks ago our Community Engagement Coordinator, Stephanie, shared two quick stories that I would like to pass on to you:
Client recieves food

I was in the pantry earlier today talking to a client who told me that we are the nicest food pantry in Paterson.  Our staff is friendly and we give the best food - particularly the fruits and veggies.  She said she always tells people to come here when they need help and want to be treated well.

Hours later a high school sophomore from the Benway School volunteer group pulled me aside, gave me a crumpled dollar bill, and told me "I don't have very much but I just really wanted to give this to you guys to feed the hungry.  You all do so much, so I hope it helps."

The reason I wanted to share these 2 separate moments is because they are connected. One would not be possible without the other. CUMAC is able to provide nutritious food, and meet the growing needs of our community with dignity, solely thanks to the generous support of donors like you.

Did you know our services continue to grow? We now operate 3 pantries which willfeed over 38,000 people this year - another record high - and coordinate the feeding efforts of the 3 dozen pantries of the Community Food Coalition to ensure the most efficient use of our resources. Simply, a gift to CUMAC puts food into the pantries, and bellies, of those who need it most.

Whether you have a single, crumpled dollar to share, or can make a gift for thousands, your year-end donation to CUMAC will have a profound impact on the lives of those we serve. Thanks to our phenomenal partnerships, CUMAC can still feed a family of 4 for a week for $50. A $100 gift provides 3 days of supportive housing to a person in need. Any amount truly makes a difference for those most vulnerable. Please do what you can right now.
