Oscars have so much more staying power over time for the actors and the films. The Grammys, while they do have some classic moments, are usually just moments in time. The Grammys also make some big mistakes too, often with Best New Artist of the Year, such as in 1990 ! Best New Artist Like A #1 Draft Pick

I looked through the list you posted. There are some solid superstars, like The Beatles, CSN, Mariah Carey, Bob Newhart(!). There are some busts too, i.e. Starland Vocal Band. It reminds me of getting the first pick if you're a sports team. You're betting on hope, but you have no idea if they'll pan out. The NY Mets famously picked Steve Chilcott (who?) over Reggie Jackson as the #1 pick of the 1966 baseball draft.

Who would've thought A Taste Of Honey had no staying power?
